Booking terms
Last updated: . These terms explain how booking, paying, cancelling and training with South Yorkshire Sweet Science work. Please read them before you book.
About these terms
South Yorkshire Sweet Science is run by Naphtali Nembhard (“Nap”) and offers boxing coaching in Sheffield, South Yorkshire. These terms apply when you request or book a session through this website or by email. If anything here is unclear, email nap@southyorkshiresweetscience.co.uk before you book.
Prices
- 1-2-1 session: £30 per session.
- Saturday women’s class: £6 per person.
- Private group session: £35 per session.
- 4-session bundle: £110. 6-session bundle: £150. Bundles are for 1-2-1 sessions.
All prices are in pounds sterling. The price that applies is the one shown when you book.
Requesting a session
New customers request a time. When you send a request, you get a booking reference (it starts with SYSS-) and the time is held for you while Nap reviews it. The screen you see after sending your request shows when the hold ends.
A request is not a confirmed booking. If Nap can’t do the time, he’ll let you know by email. If the hold ends before he confirms, the time is released and you’re welcome to request another one.
Confirmation
Your session is confirmed when Nap sends you a calendar invite by email. The invite includes your reference, the venue and a link to pay. Please accept the invite or reply if anything is wrong.
Paying
New customers pay after Nap confirms, using the secure Tide payment link in the confirmation. Payments are made on Tide’s website and Tide’s own terms apply to the payment. We never see your card details.
Prepaid sessions (bundles)
- Bundles are paid for first, on Tide.
- Once Nap has seen your payment, he adds the sessions to the email address you gave. Sign in with that email address and the sessions appear in your account.
- Prepaid sessions can be used for 1-2-1 sessions only. A 1-2-1 session booked with a prepaid session is confirmed straight away.
- Any expiry date or other conditions for a bundle will be confirmed by Nap.
Cancelling or moving a session
Sign in to My bookings with the email address you booked with. You can cancel a request or a confirmed session before it starts, and move a confirmed session to another free time. A request can’t be moved: cancel it and request a new time instead. You can also email nap@southyorkshiresweetscience.co.uk.
If you cancel a session you booked with a prepaid session through My bookings before it starts, that session goes back into your account.
Nap will confirm the notice needed to cancel or move a session, and what happens if you cancel late or miss a session, when he confirms your booking. Sessions that have already started can’t be changed online; please email Nap.
If Nap has to cancel or move a confirmed session, he will let you know as soon as he can and arrange another time with you. If another time doesn’t suit you, you won’t be charged for that session.
Health and safety
Boxing is a physical activity, and all exercise carries some risk of injury. To help keep you safe:
- Tell Nap about any injury, medical condition or anything else that could affect your training before you start, using the notes when you book or by email, and tell him if anything changes.
- If you’re not sure whether boxing training is right for you, check with your GP first.
- Train within your limits. Stop and tell Nap straight away if you feel pain, dizziness or unwell.
- Follow Nap’s instructions and the rules of the venue.
- Don’t train if you are unwell or under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Nap may adapt, pause or stop a session if he thinks it isn’t safe to continue.
Group sessions and the women’s class
The person who books a private group session is the contact for the group. Please share these terms, especially the health and safety section, with everyone coming. The Saturday women’s class is for women only.
